Jaymi Guess is a highly-sensitive dreamer, writer, pop culture fanatic, and mom of two sweet girls.  Willow was conceived when Jaymi took a Mythology class as an elective one summer at Academy of Art University while earning her Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising.  Learning the origins of many of our favorite stories as well as the theories of Joseph Campbell and Carl Jung, inspired Jaymi to write her very own children’s story.  She didn’t know where it would take her, but it was there she met and created Willow.

 

A lover of words and storytelling since childhood, she loves the confusing adventures of Alice in the books of Lewis Carrol's, the fun repetitive words Dr. Seuss was known for, and the wonderful, magical storytelling of L. Frank Baum.  The many Oz books will always be a place of comfort and inspiration for Jaymi.

 

As a highly sensitive INFJ, Jaymi feels as though she (unconsciously) puts on a mask when she leaves her home to get through day-to-day life. A mask to fit in. A mask to feel safe. A mask to blend in with society and its expectations. She wants not only her kids, but every other little or big person to know that there is nothing wrong with being sensitive and/or different. Sometimes we just need a charm (or talisman) to help show us that we got this. We can always find a way to turn our weaknesses into a strengths!
